Great engineering but expensive.

Description

Electrolux Trilobite Robotic Vacuum is a fully automated robotic vacuum cleaner.

It will crawl your room and vacuum at the time you have specified. After it is done it will return to its docking station to recharge the batteries.

The Electrolux Trilobite vacuum cleaner navigates using ultrasound and infrared sensors. The sonar that emits the ultrasound vibrates at a rate of 60,000 Hz. It is coated with a gold plate for best performance. Thanks to this navigation system it has no problem avoiding collision. It operates without any contact with obstacles. Its advanced computer processor allows it to map the entire space while it is cleaning, so that it can determine the smartest way to do its job with optimal battery efficiency.

To keep Trilobite in the room you can use special magnetic strips. They act as a wall and can be placed in doorways and other openings.

The machine contains four motors - one for each driven wheel, one for the brush and one for the vacuum. It also contains a built-in infrared stair sensor helping it avoid falling down stairs without the need for magnetic strips or virtual walls.

This robotic vacuum has also scheduling features that allows you to select when you want to clean your floors. Very convenient when you know you're not going to be around, but want to make sure the floor gets cleaned.

On a full charge, the machine can clean for 60 minutes (in 'normal' mode). If the cleaning hasn't been completed when the vacuum cleaner needs to be charged, the Electrolux Trilobite continues cleaning when charging is finished, after about two hours. Once cleaning is completed, the machine returns to its charging station and recharges automatically.

The Electrolux Trilobite has three cleaning programs: normal - plots the room and vacuums all open surfaces, quick - vacuums without room mapping and spot - concentrates on a 10' sq. area. It takes 40 minutes to clean a 14' x 15' room ('normal' mode).

It can clean hard floors and carpet. It will move from hard surfaces to carpet with ease.

You will be nicely surprised that it easily deals with common problems like cables or carpet edges.

It includes 2 internal battery packs.

Trilobite has been designed with one-touch simplicity. Turn on the power and then it's simply a matter of touching the start button to let it do its job.

Similar to all other vacuum robots, Trilobite can't replace a household vacuum cleaner. It doesn't have as much suction power as other Electrolux models. The machine is designed to serve as a bridge between weekly deep cleanings. It does not handle well thick carpets: they give the brush trouble. It is also much more expensive then its competitors.
