The kit can build both rolling robots and a walking robot with 6 insect-like legs that can move forwards, backwards, left and right.
The instructions show how to build 7 rolling robots and one walking robot with edge detection, obstacle detection and light finder. The kit contains over 480 pieces including 2 power motors, 4 microswitch contact sensors, 2 phototransistors and a lens tip lamp, a full color assembly manual with detailed plans for 8 robots, a software manual and a tutorial on the Robo Mobile technology.
It is possible to control multiple ROBO Pro interfaces in parallel (in online mode) and to make custom control panels which include switches, controllers and display elements.
Optional items include: the IR Control Set (remote control unit) and RF Data Link (radio link to the PC or another ROBO interface).
This robotic kit includes:
Fischertechnik ROBO Controller
- computer interface hardware for FischerTechniks Computing series building kits. It acts like an industrial PLC controller but operates at 9V for simplified and safer use at home. It is programmed using fischertechniks advanced visual programming environment. It includes 16-bit microcontroller, USB and serial interfaces, 128 kByte of flash memory, Four 9V/250mA motor outputs, 8 digital inputs, 4 analog inputs and 2 inputs for digital distance sensors.
Fischertechnik ROBO Pro Software for Windows
- visual programming language is simple enough to allow middle school students to begin learning robotic programming and complete enough to allow professional engineers to model complex industrial processes. An editor menu allows you to select your experience level so beginners see only basic language elements while advanced users have access to a comprehensive development system. It requires Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000 or XP, Pentium II 500 MHz, 64 MB RAM, 20 MB hard drive, 1024 x 768 high color 16-bit graphic ability and free USB or RS232 interface to connect the ROBO Interface.
It is compatible with Microsoft Robotics Studio.
