Gupi is the stress free robotized realistic ginea pig. It is programmed to do all the things a guinea pig does minus a few less desirable characteristics. It has the same look and feel as a real one. It is highly autonomous, he walks around in the house without bumping into anything (sensors in his eyes) or falling off the table or the stairs (sensors at his legs). GUPI is so smart he can also walk through a maze and you can be assured that he will find a way out.
GUPI has a very interactive playing behavior, if you don't play with him he becomes lonely and scared and he will go hiding in a dark place. But if you caress him he will feel loved, and he will be happy. GUPI can also hear you, and he will react to voices and sounds. When GUPI is happy he will actually come running at you when you call him, but when he's scared he can't stand noise and will run away from it. When happy he follows a light beam so you can lead him wherever you want him to go. When GUPI gets hungry you can feed him (i.e. recharge his batteries) through a little carrot.
His silky synthetic nylon fur won't give you any allergies.
Gupi has different moods and behaviors depending on how you treat him, and makes more than thirty different sounds.
Gupi is the ultimate kids' pet - no litter, no little 'accidents', no sawdust scattered all over the place, and when you go away on holiday he won't go and die on you.
Besides honing in on an untapped breed of digipet, Gupi uses voice overlay technology and an Internet connection that apes instant-messaging functionality to let as many as five kids have real-time conversations with each other on-line. Kids use the ears to control Gupi and talk to their friends using his internal wireless microphone and speakers. Gupi will work from anywhere in the house, as long as the Internet is turned on.
Gupi has five states: Baby state (cries and shakes); Learning state (walks around but needs training to avoid obstacles); Autonomous state (walks around); Happy state (walks around, giggles, follows carrot...) and Sleeping state (falls asleep in the dark or after period of non-play).
