Microbric kits allow you to build complex electronic devices with little or no prior electronics knowledge. No soldering is involved and all parts are reusable. Thanks to the electronic connection system and simple mechanics you can assemble the pieces in any way you like without having to worry about making irreversible mistakes.
The kit contains the motherboard (with the Atom microcontroller chip and serial connector) and several modules i.e. circuit boards that hold electromechanical devices: 2 LED modules, slide switch module, 2 motor modules, button module, 2 bump sensor modules, infrared receiver module, buzzer module. The kit can be programmed or controlled using a remote control.
This set contains a solid manual explaining the assembly and programming steps. You can also purchase add-on packs: the
Sumo add on pack
that will turn the viper into a sumo robot wrestler or the
Line tracker add on pack
that contains a light-dark sensor. The third add on pack contains extra wheels - might be helpful to handle obstacles.
The viper robotic kit is very easy to assemble and program. The assembly requires a pair of needle nose pliers or magnetized screwdriver.
Programming:
The microcontroller of the Viper Microbric kit can be programmed using BASIC language. To do that you will need to instal the included Basic Micro Atom IDE 2.2 program into your computer. You can transfer your programs to the robot via a serial cable.
