UBOT is a cleaning robot that sweeps, vacuums and mops simultaneously. It uses an advanced cloth-dispensing system to pick up what the 60W vacuum misses.
The robo-vacuum can find its way around your place on its own and avoid any obstacles. It is equipped with a wall following function, IR sensor and a soft silicon bumper sensor that does not damage your furniture. It also features voice guidance system, so you can check UBOT's status by listening to the voice helper. Alternatively you can check its status by looking at the window display screen.
Ubot comes in two versions: Ubot-General and Ubot-Navigation. Ubot-Navigation features a navigational mapping mode, based on a 2D barcode navigation system, that allows it to create a map of the room and follow it. It uses a sensor to read ultraviolet symbols imprinted on the flooring. This enables UBOT to perform fast and efficient cleaning tasks without missing areas and save the battery power due to the recognition of location. In Korea, Microrobot works with a manufacturer that embeds the symbols onto hardwood floors. This version of Ubot automatically returns to the docking station to recharge the battery regardless of location and distance between UBOT and the docking station.
The Ubot-General has three cleaning modes. The focus cleaning mode allows the robot to clean a specified area. The corner cleaning mode allows UBOT to only clean the corners by following the wall. The last one is the full cleaning mode that allows UBOT to clean a large area. Cleaning 100 sq. ft (10 sq. m) takes 10min.
UBOT cleans the floor in three stages. First the side brushes sweep the floor. Next the vacuum systems sucks up the dirt. FInally the liquid cleaning system squirts a cleaning liquid which the UBOT mops up leaving a sparkling clean room. The side brush allows it to clean the corners.
The robot wipes the floor with anti-bacterial wet-cloth which contains an anti-bacterial extract from pine needles called phytoncide. Phytoncide is naturally produced by the plant to protect itself from insects or microorganisms. It is natural and non-toxic and it is safe for people. The cloth needs to be changed every 20 days.
On the down side, the UBOT is only intended for use on hard floors and is rather thick so it might not fit under your furniture.
