(3) | The Allysen doll | October 09, 2006 |

The Allysen doll does not look like the picture on the box. My family joked that she looked like Joan Rivers. Yet, my daughter likes her. She does get a little frustrated with her being a little slow in responding but she is amazing with what and how she responds.

My daughter loves it. It does respond a little slow but my daughter laughs at it. She loves interacting with it and is ready to get the cheerleading play pack.

This doll is adorable! The command words are simple and easy to remember, I am planning to make cue cards for my six year old daughter to help her remember all of them though. This doll is so life-like. We bought the ethnic version, she looks just like my daughter who is biracial!

We gave this to our daughter for Xmas 2006. Allysen was a huge disappointment. Everything about her is awful. From her long, tangly hair to her ineptness in her reponses. Our daughter could not squeeze her hands without adult assistance and even then, Allysen never seemed to respond or listen to our daughter. Allysen is not at all worth the money!

(4) | A New Addition to our Family | December 27, 2006 |

My 5 year old daughter just received Allysen for Christmas and loves it. At first I was dissapointed b/c my daughter does not speak clearly enough for the doll to understand, so I have to intervene often. My daughter never played with dolls before, but now she takes Allysen everywhere.
It is hard for my daughter to interact with Allysen in the car or public. Allysen can't understand answers to questions if their is any noise in the background.
Overall, at least this doll interacts with my child verses all the other dolls sitting quietly and unplayed with in her room.

(2) | Not So Amazing Allysen | December 28, 2006 |

My granddaughter had begged for this doll for Christmas and I felt lucky I found it just before Christmas at Walmart. Could not get the doll to work correctly. She cried and cried. Since she just turned 5 and still does not pronounce some words correctly, it would not take her commands. She cried and cried. I don't believe this is appropriate for a 5 year old.

Amazing Alysen is a rip-off. My daughter had to have one for Christmas, so my wife purchased one at Target. The doll does not work and does what it wants to do. It does not respond to any commands and just plays the games it wants to play. Most of the time it wants to make phone calls. Whenever my daughter tries to get the doll to do anything it does not respond at all, and will ask for a smoothie when she wanted to make up the dolls hair. This product is going back to Target for a refund. I plan to short the stock if publicly traded and it hasn't tanked yet...so I may make a fortune on this product for not perfoming to expectation.

I worked very hard to find the money for this doll for my daughter. It was her one wish, She is very disappointed with this doll. She is six years and as we all know kids will play and be content with most anything. This breaks my heart and pocket book.It did not come with proper instructions and I am waiting for the company to call me back.

I bought Amazing Allysen for my daughter (8 years old) for Christmas. I could not decide if to buy one, because most of the dolls had an overgrown (overextended) lower jaw and they looked really ugly. The doll to be playable must look nice, right? Allysen 's face is supposed to change after you put the batteries in, but I didn 't want to take any chances. After browsing through a dozen dolls, finally I have found one that looked ok.
After my daughter unpacked it, we had to set it up. Unfortunately you cannot set her up to use the real name of your child (you have a list of names you have to choose from), so now the doll refers to my daughter as 'best friend '.
Although it is not recommended, I 've used rechargeable batteries and she work great.
For the first two days my daughter played with this doll constantly. Sometimes the doll did not understand what she is saying, mainly because my daughter did not wait until the doll finishes. You really have to let her finish the sentence and then speak loudly and clearly.
Right now (after a week) Amazing Allysen is put to sleep and has not awakened for last couple days. It turns out my daughter likes her 'barbies ' and 'bratz ' dolls better.
In summary, the doll is probably not great, but still pretty good. I was impressed with the number of different conversations, games and other interactions you can have with her.

My two daughters each got an Allysen doll for Christmas. They are having fun with her and I am pretty impressed. She is kind of fun and it is amazing how far toys have come in the years! I would definately recommend her (yet we didn 't have to pay over 80 each).

(1) | DISAPPOINTING ALYSEN | February 03, 2007 |

This doll is really disappointing for the money you pay. It cost too much, plus it 's frustrating because she is 'kinda deaf. I bought this for my daughter as a Xmas present and she only use it once because she dislike the way she respond. The advertisement on TV was too far from being real.

My daughter is 15 and blind. She Loves her Allysen doll very much. She bought her with her Birthday $$ around christmas. Everything was wonderful untile about 3 months ago, Allysens right hand stopped responding, so her assessories arnt ' working. I 've tried several time to contact the company but we seem to be playing phone tag. For a doll that cost $100 I had hoped it would of worked a lot longer. Especially since my child is older and taked very good care of her things.

My daughter received Allyson for Christmas. She quickly renamed her Annoying Allyson as Allyson would not respond quick enough or did not understand the person talking. Was not worth the money.

My 8 year old daughter loves her Amazing Allysen doll. She "remembers " my daughter 's answers from playing with her previous days. She knows my daughter 's favorite color, her birthday, favorite holiday, what sports she likes, and other stuff. My daughter plays with her a lot. Once you get to know the correct responses, it 's a blast. My daughter likes playing truth or dare with Allysen. This technology is amazing.

Do not listen to the review called awful allysen. I admit allysen 's hair can get a bit tangled but not if you take care of it. I also admit that at the top of her head the rubber skin skin she has tears. SHE IS DEFINETLY NOT AWFUL.
