Description

RoboBuilder's Creator is a DIY robotic kit designed for robot enthusiasts and education. It offers a complete kit of interchangeable modules which come together to form computer programmable mini robots. You can build any type of robot: spider, vehicles, wheels, androids, snake, duck and many other creatures.

The Creator 5710K robotic kit is packed with advanced features not found on many of the other kits in the market such as; Precise PID Motion Control, Distance Detection, Sound Detection and Speaker System, IR remote control included, Bluetooth upgradeable, and Full-duplex drop-down UART serial communication on their smart actuators.

Out of the box, there are three 'standard' robot designs, HUNO, DINO and DOGY. HUNO is a humanoid robot, capable of walking on two legs, and capable of performing moves like walking, jogging, headstands and kicking. DINO looks like a dinosaur, standing on two legs with a third appendage that resembles a tail. The prehistoric robot can move much faster than HUNO. DOGY, a four-legged model simulates the movements of a robotic dog. Thanks to its extra legs, it's the fastest of the robots, can be programmed to run, sit, lie down or other dog-like movements. Additional modules let you build even more complex robots.

The RoboBuilder's Creator kit comes in either a simple black design (5710K), or a clear body loaded with programmable LEDs inside under the see through shell.

With the included Motion Builder and Action Builder programming software, users can program their robot with both remote-controlled and autonomous behaviors. Motions can be created using the 'pose and capture' method, wherein the user poses the robot manually, saves the servo positions, and strings together a sequence of poses and transitions to create a complete, fluid motion. Behaviors can be triggered by sensor values, or by commands from the included IR remote control. Alternatively the robot can be programmed using C. Examples of C programs/code are included in the documentation.

Another exciting feature is the ability to trade motion files on the internet uploading your own and downloading others.

The RoboBuilder assembly system (Joint Insert Assembly mechanism) uses a simple yet impressively solid connection method to eliminate the need for most of the screws, brackets, and other hardware usually associated with kits of this kind. It enables users to simply plug a plastic joint part into wCK modules to mechanically link two different wCK modules.

The wCK module itself can operate as a small independent robot system because it is equipped with external I/O ports and can run a self-running motion program. The wCK module adopts a PID motion control technology and can realize motion control characteristics as precise and accurate as industrial servo motors.

Thanks to PID motion control the smart, serially controlled actuators (wCK) allow much more precise control of the position and motion of the Robot. They provide valuable feedback data such as speed, position, and torque. Each actuator can be programmed with limits for each of these variables, and the PID control algorithms are fully customizable.

With a simple command, the actuators can be switched from angular control (servo) mode to continuous rotation (DC motor) mode, allowing you to drive joints and wheels with the same actuator modules. They even include two additional digital output pins and one analog input so users can further expand their capabilities.
