The spoon allows you to eat solid foods (rice, fried chicken, sausages, fruits), Thin foods (stir-fried vegetables, salads), soft foods (potato, tofu, jelly) and noodles without any assistance.
The manipulator is designed so that the fork does not extend past the end of the spoon. The "stop" position of the fork/spoon is configured before each meal to a position just in front of the mouth. Modes of operation
In the manual mode the spoon is controlled with a joystick. By moving the joystick in all four directions (up, down, left, right), any food item within the included tray and compartment can be eaten in any desired order.
The semi-automatic mode simplifies the user operation, but the user cannot select a specific food item. After selecting a desired compartment within the included tray, My Spoon will automatically grasp a food item in the compartment.
In automatic mode MySpoon will automatically select a compartment, grasp a food item and carry it toward the mouth.
