Editor's Opinion

Speaker with an attitude.

Description

I-Dog is a music-loving robot dog with a difference he cannot live without music. That's because this cute little creature feeds on the tunes you play him and develops one of three personalities according to the music he hears. He even functions as a portable speaker for your audio player.

The idea is to feed I-Dog with music at least once an hour when he is switched on. Simply plug his lead into the headphone jack of your audio device (CD player, stereo, MP3, computer, etc.) and let the doggie disco commence. This harmonic hound also comes complete with a dual jack so you can plug your headphones in and dance along to the music too.

I-Dog begins life in Puppy Mode but as you feed him he will begin to react to the tunes he hears. Rock and punk make him rebellious, pop and RB make him happy and dance music makes him excitable. A series of multicoloured lights on I-Dog's face also help to show how he is feeling.

I-Dog can use his built-in microphone to listen and react to music from an outside source. Put him next to a radio and watch him wag along. I-Dog also reacts to movement. Stroking his head or touching his nose will make him happy and you can also discipline him by touching his tail (this will make him growl).

Included dual connector cable plugs into your music player so you can play tunes through iDOG, listen to your music through your headphones while iDOG rocks out or simply place it near a speaker and watch iDOG move and groove. Flashing LED lights change color depending on the type of music you play. Changing light patterns respond to your touch or the amount of music your "feed" iDOG to express moods ranging from loneliness to pure ecstasy! Compatible with most portable and non-portable music players. Includes dual connector cable.

iDog can remember up to 70 songs.

Pros

  • Speaker for your iPod.
  • 3 personalities according to the music he hears.

Cons

  • Does not download, record or store music.

I I have already made a coment on jan. 3rd. But here is somemore. I am in love with the iDog. Mutsy is doing great and I love listening to music with him. The cons are that the battery does not last long and it it not very loud but Other than that it is a great accessory.

I have recieved my Sega iDog for Christmas. So far I am not too impressed as it is the Japanese version which is supposed to be better than the UK. It came with no connecter cable (luckally my father had one spare), the manual was ALL Japenese! So i came online to find english infomation and i came across many different versions. One version says that if you put it next to a speaker of a stereo or computer it dances, mine doesnt. How can i make it do this? Another version says that if you wave over its head, it changes the tone of the songs and flashes different colours depending on your mood, mine doesnt. Again, How do i make it do this? BUT THE MAIN THING THAT IS ANNOYING, IT TURNS ITSELF OFF AFTER 3 MINUTES IN THE MIDDLE OF A SONG!!!! i am getting really frustrated but i cant figure out what is wrong because the manual is all Japanese! Please, CAN SOMEONE HELP?! Otherwise, it is a very cute product.
