Description

I-Cybie evolves from a puppy to a mature dog. His evolution is dependent upon interaction with his environment and his owner. He needs to be taught tricks and games, rewarded with positive and or scolded with negative reinforcement.

This robotic toy has several functions including: COME HERE, ROLL OVER, STEP BACKWARDS, BODY SHAKE, SPEAK, LIE DOWN, DANCE, SHAKE HAND, SIT, WAVE, GREET. He can even do a HEAD STAND!! It can be programmed to only respond to his owner's voice. I-Cybie robotic dog also recognizes edges, allowing him to stop before walking off the edge of a table or falling down some stairs. he even senses light and the touch of your hand. Walls and other obstacles are also detected

I-Cybie employs exciting advances in animation and artificial intelligence: has state of the art sensor arrays that enable it to detect walls and obstacles to prevent collisions. I-cybie is capable of sensing movement and changes in ambient light. His sensors are sophisticated enough to determine the direction of a noise. Touch sensors help I-Cybie to determine when he is being petted or stroked.

After about 20 to 30 minutes of inactivity, I-Cybie drops into sleep mode. When I-Cybie senses that it needs to be recharged, it lowers its body down in a yoga position with it legs splayed out. I-Cybie also has smart sensor technology that enables it to find its charging station and plug itself in to be recharged. Batteries last between 1 and 2-1/2 hrs.

The robot can interact with other i-Cybie robots using a built-in IR communicator. I-Cybie dog is made of 1,400 parts and over 90 feet of wire!

Not as powerful as the the famous Sony AIBO, but significantly less expensive. Unfortunately programming difficult to modify, not capable of autonomous learning.

Pros

  • Advanced Voice Recognition technology allows him to learn to respond to his owner's specific voice commands.
  • 16-motor drive for exceptionally lifelike animation and responsiveness.
  • Lots of cool sensors.
  • Can interact with other i-Cybie robots.

Cons

  • Disappointing if you already have experienced Aibo.
  • Battery life is unpredictable.
  • Programming difficult to modify, not capable of autonomous learning.

I am very disappointed in this product. I purchased the i-cybie dog for Christmas for my grandchilred (I bought 2)and they do not work, according to 3D-eShop.com it is the battey and pack. I have requested replacements and have also purchased 2 hopeing to receive them ASAP. I can't get through to either Silverlit Toys or 3D-shop. I would NOT recommend this product. Too expensive for a toy you can't play with.

My i-cybie has something wrong with it and I think it might be a glitch or something like that because when you turn it on the back right leg goes out and it clicks over and over and over and I just want to know what it is.

Forget about getting parts (charging station, shells, etc) Ordered from the Buy-iCybie site and they never acknowledged emails for information on shipping. So, cancelled order by disputing amount on chargecard. After 4 months, still NO communication from them! (either way)
