Description

The ROB-1 is a robot with a built-in digital camera that you control from your (Sony Ericsson) cellphone using Bluetooth.

It can wheel around on three wheels up to 50m from the controlling cellphone with a maximum speed of 0.2 m/sec. It moves forwards and backwards, look around corners, pivot on the spot.

Using the VGA camera at the front it can take pics or stream video at fifteen frames per second back to your cellphone. User memory size: 2MB, Camera tilts 70 degrees upwards and 20 degrees downwards.

Rob-1 is compatible with any phone that has a Java platform with Bluetooth API JSR-82 but video streaming functionality is only available with the Sony Ericsson P900, P910.

Ultra bright light on the front leads the way and allows shots to be taken in dark spaces.

The robot uses a 200 MHz Freescale Dragonball processor with 2 MB of RAM and runs Linux.

The unit runs on standard or rechargeable AA batteries and should last for 3-4 hours of use before needing more juice.
