Roborior (robot + interior) is a uniquely shaped home guard robot. It is equipped with infrared sensors (1 front and 2 rears), sound sensor, speaker, microphone, a digital camera and a video phone.
This watermelon-sized robot, designed by British artist Paul White, comes on wheels and glows in hues of purple, blue and orange.
Roborior will notify you of any intruders to your home while you are away. If Roborior’s sensors are tripped, it will call your 3G-enabled cell phone, and send you video.
Roborior can connect to the home owner’s mobile phone and relay streaming video that is taken by robot’s 300,000 pixel digital camera.
It can also be used to monitor your pets or communicate with your children while you are away.
It has its own built-in electronic music that will signal incoming call and respond to remote control commands.
It's maximum speed is about 0.68km per hour
Modes of operation
When Roborior is set to the ‘house sitting mode’ it will call the home owner’s cell phone if an intruder is detected by its infrared sensors that monitor all sides.
In the ‘remote mode’ Roborior can be remote-controlled to go forward, backward, left or right with an easy to use handset. Buttons on the handset also make it possible to angle the camera to look up or down.
The ‘TV mode’ allow you to connect it to your TV and use the TV the real time monitor.
