Editor's Opinion

This mobile robot is a teacher, entertainer and personal assistant – all in one.

Description

i-Que is a mobile and highly interactive robot that can entertain and help with homework in a fun and informative way. An innovative text to speech function allows him to speak millions of words - even in different accents and themes. You can have a two-way conversation with him. It remembers who you are and what you say to him and can use it the next time you "talk.".

I-Que is entertaining and educational: plays games, features "Word of the Day" and "This Day in History” and other trivia. Its Artificial intelligence makes adjustments according to your needs and likes. Features built-in Merriam-Webster dictionary, with over 70,000 words that the robot can spell, pronounce, and define. It also knows about 3,000 facts from Encyclopedia Britannica and facts about sports, animals, history. The toy is fully interactive, with advanced human-like speech program.

While he has trivia topics such as sports, animals, history, and more right out of the box, additional cartridges are sold separately on subjects including space, geography, and the human body.

The robot has 4 built-in microphones to not loose any word of conversation with you.

I-QUE is a mobile robot and can go anywhere in your house. i-Que uses twin motors and track balls to easily navigate flat surfaces, is able to work itself out of corners, ducks as it passes under low tables or chairs, and is smart enough to not go over edges of counters, stairs, or other drops. So, it won’t bump into walls or fall off of tables and it lowers its head automatically to clear coffee tables. When it starts to run low on power, the robot guides itself back to its docking station to recharge.

Teacher

It can help with homework by supplying information on biographies, history, and animals in a fun and informative way. I-Que can define words or do a math problems. He can also teach programming skills. You can alter his voice, make him do specific routines, even have him recite a speech you wrote.

Personal assistant

The 16-bit microprocessor and flash based memory allows the robot to expand its knowledge base with personal interaction and become your personal assistant. Using speech recognition, the toy can identify its owner’s voice, have a two-way "conversation," retain new words, and even mimic accents. An included communicator similar to a Blackberry lets you text the i-Que from a remote location in the house and receive response. This device docks on the robot and lets it learn personal information about you, such as your birthday, friends’ names, holidays, events, or special occasions -- even your favorite TV shows.

The robot is pretty cool but very annoying at times. I have issues with communicator, sometimes it responds to what you type in and MOST times it don't. I have done everything the manual says as far as troubleshooting goes but nothing helps. Theres no customer service and I am not quiet sure if there are replaceable parts or who would fix it. I would not buy this product again because it seems like the company is using people to waste their money to test their products!
