The Italian-designed Lawnbott Evolution, also called the Zucchetti Ambrogio Evolution Evolution is small, light (22 pounds) and powerful:
it can handle up to 33,000 square feet (about 3/4 of an acre), and a second battery can be added to enable it to handle twice that area.
The Lawnbott Evolution uses light and small lithium-ion batteries that are estimated to last five years, and come with a winter charger to keep them charged during the off-season.
It can handle slopes up to 27 degrees, and spiked wheels are available for extra traction. It can handle three separate areas, mowing one, recharging itself, mowing the next, etc. and driving itself to each starting point without any human intervention.
It has a rain sensor, so if it "feels" wet grass or if it starts to rain, the Evolution heads back to its docking station to recharge. Its adaptive random cutting system uses different rotation angles and optimizes its cut with the patented Smart Spiral if it senses taller grass. The blade is made to be reversed when one side gets dull, so it usually needs to be replaced only every other year.
An exclusive feature of the Evolution is the ability to learn the growth rate of your lawn. It figures out how often it needs to mow to keep the lawn the way you want it and will adjust itself to reduce the operating time when less mowing is required.
The remote control allows you to directly control the LawnBott, if needed, and moves the LawnBott in any direction you choose.
LawnBott is quiet enough for a late night or early morning cut without worry of disturbing the neighbors, or yourself, while it mows.
LawnBott comes equipped with everything you need to get right down to mowing. Simply place LawnBott’s docking station next to an electrical outlet and plug it in. Then use the included wire and nails to set up a perimeter around your lawn, flowerbeds, and bushes. LawnBott will leave the docking station at its programmed time and return either when it’s done mowing or when the battery runs low.
The main drawback to the Lawnbott Evolution is that it doesn't mulch fall leaves. Another possible drawback is its maximum cutting height of only 3 inches.
